  • Nate or Jeffrey, a blog suggestion/question

I'm coming up on my 4th year blogging here at SA. I have entries for every month - 12 x 4 = 48. 48 archived months makes for a LONG way to scroll to get to what is underneath the archive.

Is there any way to archive the months differently? Perhaps by year for anything before 2009, and then just have 2009 be listed by month?

    Thanks much!

            Thanks!

            Thanks for looking into it.

            I have another request.

I think it is terrific how you (Nate?) changed the blog listings to where only the latest one each day shows up. However, there are only two ways to see if a person has posted more than once -- Use the older posts button, or click on their name to go to their main page.

I'm not sure exactly how this would work, but is there a way that a linked code could be put next to a person's blog title after the first post of the day?

Something like: What A Wonderful Life! (Post 2)

Then, you could choose to either click on the main link (What A Wonderful Life) or you could click on Post 2. Clicking on Post 2 would open up all posts in full form by that blogger for the day in the same window - perhaps have a setting to choose how to sort them. (I'd prefer from earliest to latest, personally.)

I don't know if this is even possible - I just know for me that if I go more than a day without catching up with the blogs - it can be quite overwhelming and time consuming to make sure I'm current. Also, it seems like many of the people who post multiple blogs in a day don't get many comments - which is probably due to people not even knowing they made more than one post.

Anyway, I don't even know if this is possible, but thought it wouldn't hurt to suggest it.

A semi-related issue: I usually go to the "All Entries" tab so I don't miss multiple posts by some of our more prolific bloggers. But this means I often miss posts from some of the newer bloggers like "Debt reduction 101"; the ones that look like separate Web sites. They don't show up in the "All Entries" tab, so unless I remember to go back to the Summary tab I can't follow their blogs.
