Hi Nate - as to ads...on the blog page I see ads in the upper left hand corner, but not over in all the white space to the right as I do here on the forums....

As I'm looking at the forums right now over to the right is about a three inch space that has google ads running in it. Over on the blogs all that white space is empty. Is that the way it is supposed to be? That is the space I was referring to earlier wondering if you guys were going to be using it?

A smallish (I'm sorry, I'm no pixel guru to give you dimensions) picture was what I was hoping for uptop - right near to the 'about me' biography section I have on mine.

I've got no idea if I'm running FF or Explorer or whatever, will have to ask my techie when he gets home.

      Thanks Nic,

Is that IE 6 or 7?

That is strange... Is it a specific page or all pages on your blog? What version of internet explorer are you using? 6 or 7

Yep. The reason that is there is because some people have their monitor resolution set to 800x600 which means 800 pixels wide (you probably have yours a bit wider). If we made the blogs any wider, those people wouldn't be able to see whatever you have on the right hand side of your blog (in that white space). The reason we do that in the forums though is because we don't care if some people can't see the far right hand side, as they're just ads.

Yes, it is in the works. You will be able to put one there soon.

Ah hah, i think we found our culprit! I wonder if there is some way for me to install IE 6 as well as my IE 7. Somehow I doubt that.

                  nate, question on image borders...

it doesn't appear we can specifically choose an image border color in the control panel > settings area, which i can understand, but it also doesn't appear that the vB tag [ img ] is setup to allow us to 'turn off' borders, either (i.e. [ img border='0' ]or some such syntax).

is there (or could there be) a way for us to turn off image borders via syntax?

I don't see any image borders....

I do recall that some browsers will still render borders even when you set it to 0. Some will also not render border colors, which is disappointing.

All of the archives and first page of my blog are taking up more than the screen, but the "pages" - the new feature - look okay.

I just noticed this is only when I am logged on - just my blog. I logged out yesterday and it shrunk down to normal size.

                      IE version 6

You can use border=0 now in the [img tag. Just be sure its the last parameter (do the width/height and align first if you want them).

I'll have to figure out some way to get IE 6.

nate, FF has an extension that will allow you to view a page as if it were in IE. don't know if that helps or not, but should be easy enough to grab FF if you don't have it already.

Yep I use and love it, but it uses whatever IE you have installed (IE 7 in my case).
