  • Pro- Tip: Your Brokerage Account Can Probably Calculate Your Future Dividends

    All - this is something I just figured out, so I'm posting it here for the communities awareness.

    If you have a major brokerage account, like Schwab or Fidelity, they probably have a dividend payment planning tool. This will let you project your dividend income for a year and should help you plan the income your investments give you. In my Schwab account, it looks like this:

    That's true, but it's also easy enough to do on your own unless you hold many different holdings. For example, if you own stock ABC that pays $3/share and you own 100 shares, you know you'll get $300/year or $75/quarter if they pay quarterly. It's as simple as that. If you are reinvesting your dividends, it's a bit more complicated but not hard to figure out.
