  • Treasury Bills: How Can A Foreigner Invest?

    Hello,

I was at the TreasuryDirect website recently and I noticed that only investors based in the US can buy T-bills through the site. yet i read in the newspapers how foreign investors are buying a lot of US bonds. How can I do the same?

    Thanks,
    Nwoke.

Most banks and brokerages offer them. You will have to pay a commission though.

Unfortunately, only US residents with Social Security Numbers are allowed to purchase Treasury bills thru treasurydirect.gov. You may want to check with your bank.
