I'm about to transfer about 500K into an IRA at one of my 2 brokerages. Any opinions on T.R. Price or TD Ameritrade?

I think you need to consider how you intend to invest that money. If you want low cost mutual funds, T. Rowe is probably the better choice. If you want to get into individual stocks, TD may be better. You need to compare the commission structure of each company.Steve

By keeping a minimum of $25,000 in the account, I get 30 free trades a month at Merrill Edge. But they can be an inconvenient pain in the ass to deal with.
For a $30 a month fee, I have unlimited no-commission trading at Folio Investing. But there are restrictions.
At Schwab, I pay $8.95 a trade but I have a choice of MANY, MANY more securities than at either of the 2 brokerages I first mentioned.
So, it depends on what is important to you.
