  • Direct Stock Purchase ComputerShare Questions

Situation: I have three Direct Stock Purchase Plans (DSPP). Apparently the transfer agent contracts of all went to ComputerShare over the past year. I have one account, a UTMA for my kiddo, with ComputerShare. The three DSPP are individual accounts just for me.

Must I open three separate accounts on ComputerShare for the DSPPs in which I am enrolled? My UserIDs and passwords I used to have with former transfer agents (e.g. BNY Mellon) do not work with ComputerShare. I am hoping I can limit the additional account # to one, in which I can monitor and transact through three DSPPs.

I could ask ComputerShare, but I'd have to deal with witless AI agents who answer only the most basic of questions (e.g. it couldn't tell me how to download and print transaction forms to use through the mail), and to get a general question answered they'd probably make me sign up and then make me wait for an official letter to arrive 10 business days later in the mail. I post this in hope that someone here is a ComputerShare account holder with multiple DSPPs who can give me basic information the ComputerShare website doesn't feel like sharing.

Update: Just received my access code an hour after I typed the above. It turns out so far that I have two DSPPs in just one account, and the ability, supposedly, to add more. I wonder though why bank and transfer agent websites put as scant info as possible on websites. I guess they can't afford usability consultants.
