I put money into a 403b for the first few years of my career. it is currently worth $8,000 or so. I took some time off for house, kids, etc. I started contributing again a couple of years ago, but didn't know at the time it is with another investment company. That one is currently $4,000 or so.
Now to my question...
I am in between job changes. Am I better off continuing to contribute to one or the other? Is there a way to combine the two without any penalties?
I'm in my mid 30's and as a teacher I contribute to the State Teacher Retirement System, so the 403B is just a supplement. However, I am looking to ramp up my contributions a bit so I want to make sure I get it right.
Any help will be appreciated.
