    I guess it's kind of odd to think of a bank deposit as a loan but you're right, technically it is.

    And I don't think I can do any of the loaning we were talking about either due to my state's regulations.

      Its true that some states won't let people invest in it directly but there is a secondary trading platform where you can purchase loans from others and for some reason this is allowed by most if not every state. The trading platform is lacking in some bells and whistles but you can find good deals on there from people who need to get their money out.
