  • Anyone collect coins?

Big collector here myself. Everything from morgans, peace, mercury dimes, liberty halves.

I have a small coin collection that I inherited from various relatives. However I don't actively collect.

Ah that's cool. Must be a nice collection if it's inherited. At least quality wise.

Yes. I have several silver dollars from the late 1800's and a gold piece from the same time period that is worth over $1500.

I've always had an interest in old coinage, because of its intrinsic value. The precious metal aspect is what is appealing to me...

              97guns -- very nice display!

They look so shiny; did you get them that way, or did you do something to them? They all look so perfect.

                  That is nice collection 97guns.

I've been collecting bullion since 08 and have built up a nice collection but not to your level

Try to collect one of each year for Eagles, Maples, Libertad, Philharmonic and Britannia for Silver and then what I can for gold

I assume you are in the bullion race for the long term which is my plan. Every couple of months I add to my collection. I started collecting late (31) but in 20 years time when I plan to retire/semi retire I should have a nice set of coins. I hope I never have to sell them and can just pass them down to my kids but the option is always there.

Can I ask where you guys purchase your coins? I have used Monex in the past, but they require purchases in large quantities, like 100oz silver and 20oz Gold at a time... I would rather buy a coin at a time, maybe a few times a year.

Wow, Great collection there! When I was young I used to imagine myself collecting coins but I think I just lost the enthusiasm!
