He is not saying that the super wealthy should willingly donate more in taxes than they're required, he's saying the super wealthy should be required to pay more. There's a big difference between donations and requirements.
Buffett donates to the Gates Foundation, not the IRS. He's given billions to a charitable cause. What a shmuck.
Besides, Berkshire isn't Buffett. He owns a lot of it, but so do other Americans. The tax issue would affect every owner of Berkshire, not just Buffett. (I happen to be one of those owners - BRKB)
Though I'm sure you would never argue with the IRS if they said your business underpaid on your taxes, would you? Even if you filed correctly and had your CPA sign off, you'd just pay whatever they said you owed, right? I mean, there's no chance that the IRS could be wrong.
Do you think the companies you invest in should just fork over money to the IRS without a fight? Then why do you think Berkshire should?

What any wealthy individual does with thier money should be their choice. He should learn to keep his mouth shut. If he want to donate the majority of his wealth, GREAT! Way to go! But, I could care less. I think its ridiculous when people expect others to pay the bill just b/c their wealthy.
+1 for the National Sales Tax
+1 for Buffet crawling into a hole!
