What have been your experiences with ING Direct?

I've been using them for over 3 years now and really love the interface and have had really good customer service, the limited times I've needed it.

Just fine. However, note that you don't get your money "instantly" if you decide to access it. Usually takes 4-7 business days which is good if you need time to think about how you're planning to spend it. For emergencies, not a good idea because you don't have instant access.

I use mostly their CDs for ladder strategy.

But you can also take advantage of their checking account, too, which gives you a free debit card. You can then make an immediate transfer from your ING savings account to your ING checking accoung, using your check debit card to get the $$$ immediately.

We have several accounts with ING as well. It's really convenient to transfer money from our vacation savings account to our Electric Orange checking account. A quick trip to a nearby ATM is all that is required to get our money.

I love ING. Very user friendly. I've moved most of my cash to ALLY for better rates, but I'll always have some $ at ING. ALLY is almost as user friendly as ING.
