  • Difference between 3 Vanguard funds?

Looking at re-balancing my Roth. I have ~5000 in Vanguard 500 Index Fund Investor Shares, with the rest and my monthly deposits going to target retirement. I am only 26 and think I should go with a little more risk, so I want to get a little more position into small caps. I was going to exchange my Vanguard 500 shares for small caps and put in like 15% of my monthly contributions.
What is the difference between these 3 vanguard funds what would be best for my IRA?

Vanguard Small-Cap Value Index Fund (VISVX)
Vanguard Small-Cap Index Fund Investor Shares (NAESX)
Vanguard Small-Cap Growth Index Fund (VISGX)
Also, would it be wise to get the ETF versions?

Use our ETF and mutual fund comparison tool to view side by side historical performance, risk, expense ratios, and asset class data.

Here is a side-by-side comparison. Basically, one is a growth fund (VISGX), one is a value fund (VISVX) and one is a blend of both (NAESX). So the types of stocks held in the growth fund and value fund will differ while the overall small cap index will hold all of it.

In case that link doesn't work, go to Vanguard.com. Click to see the full list of their funds and check the box next to each of those three and hit Compare and you'll get the side-by-side comparison.
