  • 2010 Customer service Hall of Shame

You guys should read this. The people have spoken out about the top 10 best and worst companies for their customer service skills. Can you imagine that 5 out of the 10 worst companies are big banks. I would agree with this survey. Check it out.

SORRY GUYS! Here is the link: Customer service hall of shame 2010 - MSN Money

No educational feedback from anyone? Just interested to hear other people's experiences with the poll.

The only company on that list I have worked with is Citi bank and I haven't encountered any problems with them. I am somewhat surprised to not see Directv on that list. I have always heard bad things about them. And I myself haven't always been pleased with their service. But they have a monopoly on the NFL so I stick with them.

Apparently, people don't like cable companies, credit cards and banks. And people still give bad ratings to AOL because they associate AOL with dial-up.

I don't remember takin a survey about any of those companies. But the people more likely to respond are those who have strong feelings one way or another. Love/hate gets people to respond to surveys. Usually, if you don't care enough one way or the other, you don't care enough to reply to the survey. So you'll find them slanted one way.

When I worked for a bank, the people that always said our service was horrible were the people that couldn't keep track of their accounts. "What? Why did you pay that check?? And I got a fee for it?? @%$^& this bank!" People with good accounts rarely had issues. Like a misprint on checks, which we'd fix for free. Stuff like that.

So I'm not surprised to see banks and credit card companies listed up there.

I've had experience with one company on the list. DISH! They are on the list as they deserve. Nothing good to say about the company. Beyond horrific customer service, "lies" and "cheats" come to mind.

Of course, went with them when our small mom and pop cable company got bought out by Comcast. Never heard a good thing about Comcast (also making the list!). & yes - DirectTv is also supposed to be horrific.

We are back to the little guys for internet/cable, now. Phew!!!

I've never banked with a big bank, as I've never had a compelling reason to.

This list probably lends to my general philosophy: If you want quality - don't go with the BIG GUYS!

I strongly believe that last qoute, I try not to do business with large companies because most of them have gotten so big, they have lost their soul.

I have experience with AOL years ago and it was a fight to get them to let me go. Comcast has gotten better, but it's still not high on my list. I especially love when I cannot get the Internet to work and you call and wait online for a long time and the taped message says, "For faster service, go to our website..."
