Warren Buffett plans of giving away 99% of his total net worth to philanthropic charities by the time he dies. This is why he feels it is right. It's a lesson all of us can learn from.
Buffett is one guy that you know has not changed that much over the years, despite of his wealth. When I was in b-school, I had to do a leadership profile on him and he still lives in the same house he bought in the 1950s. He is the man!
I think he approaches his vocation more as a game, as a puzzle to be figured out and not necessarily (as he states above) to be the richest mo-fo on the block. Buffett "gets it," IMO and that's why I find him admirable. It's not that he hasn't worked for his fortune through being focused and being well educated, but he understands the role that blind luck plays/played in his life. There's so much success-hubris in our society these days. There's so much self-aggrandizing and not enough recognition of the help that got them there. It's not minimizing the effort of the individual, but no one ever gets "there" on their own.
