Have you looked at poundwise's list yet? You can get up to 2% APY nowadays. Might not sound like much, but federal interest rates are still low, so that's actually not that bad.
I'm really lucky. My credit union has been historically high. Right now, it's paying 3.01 APY.
I am lucky. I have a bank that gives 4% interest on our checking account. Now if I could just build it better!! but I agree interest is a joke. first the amount is minimal and then the government taxes it.
Give it time; if Washington allows the Fed to do their job (kind of a big if though), significant rate hikes will be needed to keep inflation in check. Then savers will be rewarded.
