  • question on cash expense ratio

In my roth ira, I have some money in cash reserves(FDRXX)"(this ira is with fidelity)

I think someone on here told me that thier cash reserves do not have expense ratios. As far as I know an expense ratio is a fee the fund takes (possibly the manger gets) and is charged to you for having the money in the fund.
The cd rates are dismal (.65 for 3 month there) but it says the expense ratio is .39% for the fund cash reserves and the 7 day yield was .71% so I figured buying the cd was better so I did that.
    Was I right?

Stated fund returns are after fund expenses. So it isn't 0.71% minus 0.39%. It is 0.71% net.

thanks Steve. I think you told me that before. IT is an important point when looking at a fund's performace. There does seem to be a fee for having money in the fund though.

Yes, their website lists an expense ratio of 0.39%. You're correct about that.
