  • Need help organizing my retirement investments

Trying to get my investments in order because I feel like I’m scattered all over and not knowing what is where. Both dh and I invest fully in our company’s 401Ks so this is about retirement money from previous jobs and IRAs started but never continued.

    I have
403b Van Kampen (ACGIX, ACGVX, ACGTX, VKUAX, MSGAX)
    Roth IRA American Funds (BALBX)
    Roth IRA T. Rowe (TRRCX)

    DH has
    TSP (military)
    Roth IRA American Funds (BALBX)
    Roth IRA T. Rowe (TRRCX)

I am thinking that I should transfer my 403b and his TSP into a traditional IRA for each of us. Then maybe combine our Roth IRAs into one for each of us. I see Vanguard mentioned quite frequently in posts. Also was wondering what people thought about ING Direct. I have a small amount of stock with them initially under Sharebuilders. Hoping to minimize fees while someday maximizing returns. The monies in each of these accounts are not anything huge. I just need it easier to track everything.

If you want to simplify, I'd agree with rolling over the 403b into an IRA and rolling the Roths together with the same company. That way you'd get one unified statement covering all accounts. Since you already have an account with T. Rowe Price, I'd say to transfer everything over there. They have good funds with low expenses. That would be a fine choice.
