    Can a working spouse contribute to a roth ira for a nonworking spouse? From my research, it appears if one spouse works, the working spouse may contribute up to 5K for the non working spouse as long as the working spouse makes at least 10k.

    That is correct. I did that for years when my wife wasn't working. And we still do that now.
