I read somewhere, about the best time to buy shares in your mutual fund, but I cannot remember. Does anyone know?

Pick the Best Days to Invest - Kiplinger.com
this article is an couple of years old.Mark Hulbert, editor of The Hulbert Financial Digest, has found that the market is most likely to rise in the first and the last few trading days of each month.
No one knows why. But it may well be because many people do regularly invest around the start of a new month.
The bottom line: If you have a choice in your monthly investing, schedule it for the close of the third-to-last trading day of each month. Similarly, if you have a lump sum to invest, this may well be the most propitious day to pull the trigger.
It won't work every month, but Hulbert's research shows that, on average, it may well improve your returns.

The main premise is that long term money will be invested for 20 years... so the exact date looking back 20 years ago will be meaningless (meaning that the exact value will be fractions of current price).
My attititude is get money in as soon as possible. My attitude is also to not let short term conditions change my outlook for long term goals.

Normally, I would approach such an idea with extreme skepticism, and even now, I'm still looking at it kind of funny.Originally posted by simpletron View PostMark Hulbert, editor of The Hulbert Financial Digest, has found that the market is most likely to rise in the first and the last few trading days of each month.
However, Steven Goldberg is one of the few writers online that I respect, and he may have a point about when people DCA their money, and that factor enough so that it could cause a subtle boost in support around the beginning and the end of the month....
In the end though, I agree with Jim. I don't think it's going to matter, so long as you get your money in there.
