  • Car Loans

We will be getting wife a new car in August when her lease is up.

She has an accord now. Camry is on the short list of other cars to consider.

Toyota's published car lending rate for good credit was 7.2%.

Where else can a person go to get a car loan? What rates are banks giving on new cars?

We will finance for 24 or 36 months and this will be last car we ever finance (my truck will be paid off in 2010 and it's $700 payment will be banked for when either of us need a replacement vehicle).

    Take a look at Penfed.

      BuyaToyota.com

When I checked my local dealership using this website I came up with 0% financing for 36 months.

I would look at setting up an account at a local credit union now so you can get a good rate later.

Definitely agree with maat here... I'm not a member, but the local credit union here is offering 3.19% auto loans. PenFed (am with them) is offering 4.75%. In general, credit unions offer great rates for loans.

Look at other manufacturers besides Toyota. It's not uncommon to find 0-0.9% financing right now.

If you really are going with a Toyota, it wouldn't hurt to talk to a sales person at the dealership who could let you know when financing changes on the particular vehicles you are looking for.

We got our Honda Odyssey for 3.9% back in May.

Here is the offer when I put in Milford, OH. TANSKY SAWMILL TOYOTA should be offering this deal according to the website. It looks like this deal is good with any new 2009 Camry. With the way auto companies are today 0% financing on any new car should be fairly easy if you have excellent credit and can put 20% down. Now if you are looking for a used vehicle I would go to your local credit union for financing. Hope this helps.

In theory it sounds good. But here's what happens. You borrow the 100 grand and now you have financed your two old cars for 15,20 or 30 years. If that isn't bad enough statistics show that you will have more car loans, credit cards, etc. PLUS the 100 grand loan in 5 years. You cannot "borrow" yourself to prosperity. Pay off your obligations without refinancing and you will be proud of your actions.

The issue is the corporate web site does not show local incentives (like lower 0 percent financing). Sales guy just called me.

What did the sales guy have to say?
