I’m trying to understand expenses and fees for “Fidelity Small Cap Stock Fund (FSLCX)” .

    Short-term Trading Fee 2.00%
    Short-term Fee Period 90 Days
    Management Fee 0.80%
    Expense Ratio as of 06/28/2008
    1.08%
Expense Ratio after Reductions as of 04/30/2008

Could someone briefly explain these fees and is this fund expensive on fees compare to others?

The last number was cut off, but assuming it is around 1%, that is generally a pretty good ER. There are definitely cheaper small cap funds out there (index funds) but if you want to go actively-managed, 1% is a good cap.

As far as the short-term trading fee, that probably means that you need to hold the mutual fund at least 90 days after buying it or you get hit with a 2% fee when you sell. At least that is the way Vanguard handles it with some funds.
