  • Morningstar premium open house

Morningstar's website has recently had an overhaul, and they're having an "open house" where you can try out the premium features for free. Friday is the last free day.

The price for premium membership is pretty steep:
    Monthly Membership: $16.95
    Annual Membership: $159.00
    Two-Year Membership: $269.00
    Three-Year Membership: $369.00

Looks like you can still enter and track your portfolio for free, but to look at it with x-ray requires premium membership.

Instant x-ray is still free, but you have enter everything new each time or not.

The new import from csv is a nice addition, but it took me awhile to figure out some of the quirks:
    * must have a date, with a 4 digit year
    * you can't have two entries for the same ticker (I hold the same funds in multiple accounts, and ended up using an excel pivot table to sum them.)
    * amount means total amount or market value

It's still a lot of clicking to take an existing portfolio and update the amounts. I'd like to be able to just put in the total number of shares owned, but the portfolio manager is very oriented toward buy and sell transations.
