  • Upped 401K contributions to 25%

I do not want to log into my 401K account to see flashing reds everywhere. But I do close my eyes, take deep breaths and tell myself of opportunities.

I just upped my 401K contribution from 10% to 25%.

Hey, congrats! That's really a high percentage.

I'm focusing on finishing off my car loan at the moment (just 1-2 months left, ~$1500), but I did still decide to up mine from my originally-planned 6% to now being 10%. It's only an extra $100 anyway, but hopefully I can just leave it that way for a while and let it build. This will actually be the absolute start of mine (first contribution ever goes in on 1 Oct), so I guess that's mostly good news for me... I'm definitely starting out with a good opportunity for gain.

I'm actually focusing my retirement savings toward my Roth, but unfortunately I've already maxed it for this year...

Very smart idea if you can afford it.
Myself contribute all together $105 weekly including the company match since 01/01/09.

So far I contributed $7500 into my 401K this year. This does not include employer match. Still 3 months go, with 25% I can contribute around $6K. So I won't be maxing out my 401K.

                Wow! WTG!

My DH may get a surprisingly substantial raise in a few weeks, and if he does, I'm planning to up his 401K a bit. Not quite as well as you are though!

                Buy them bargains!
