  • Citi should be broken up

otherwise, the taxpayer is gonna be the one to footing the bills. One thing, Alan Greenspan biggest mistakes during his tenure, he didn't believe in regulating certain activities within the financial market. Instead of allowing higher margin requirements and preventing excessive leveraging he let it be.

Let's bring back the The Glass-Steagal Act that allowed CITI and AIG to become "too big to fail". If its too big it should be broken up.

I don't believe there is such a thing as "too big to fail". I don't think there ever will be.

However, I do think there should be better regulation in the mortgage lending process.

And if you think Citi is big enough, just wait until all this blows over. BAC is going to made Citi look like Pee Wee.

I think it's more accurate to say "too big to be allowed to fail" currently exists, and likely will continue to exist into the foreseeable future. Mr. Bush and the Treasury may agree....
