  • Tax Deferred Annuity

Hi Everyone. Now that I'm actually starting my new job it seems the retirement plan is a Tax deferred annuity. What confuses me is that is looks like I get to choose which investments at Vangaurd I get to invest in. Does that mean I get all the money I invest when I retire, or will it be a fixed payment based on a guaranteed return?

All depends on the plan. Your withdrawal options should be specified in your plan documents.

Yeah, they said they sent them out, but I haven't gotten anything. It's odd becuase I have an IRA with Vanguard and my 401k through Fidelity and today a Tax Deferred Annuity showed up in my online homepage for both Fidelity and Vanguard. I'll post more information once I get the packet.
