  • Declined at HSBC

I tried making an account at HSBC Direct tonight and was declined... all my information was correct. Any idea why this happened?

Do you have any negative items that have been reported to Chex Systems?

If you applied on line they might need more information. I had to fax them over my utilities bill and my DL. Have spoken to one of the reps and discussed this with them.

Call them up and ask them. Did you not get any explanation via e-mail or during the enrollment process?

No they didn't give any explanation just a declined email. This isn't the first time I've been declined I tried getting a savings account at my local bank online and filled out the form and sent in a copy of my drivers license and social security card and was declined there.... So I went in to the bank and they didn't know why I was declined so I filled out a new form there in person and got an account. The account I have now only pays .2% so here I am trying to get an online savings.....

Could it possibly be because you have never had a checking account? My HSBC account links to checking, so I would just call them ask ask for an explanation.

You have to have a checking account for them to link to.
