Vanguard's Corporate Bond Fund is currently yielding over 8%. There may be some risk of defaults, but it seems like a good buy.

    Opinions?

I've always considered bond funds low achievers. They do well in times like now, but over the long haul, not so good. If your near retirement they are a much more stable place to be or if you actively manage your funds in the short term. My GUESS, is that growth funds are from here, going to out perform bonds in even the near future.

You're better of buying individual bonds than bond funds IMO.
