This looks similar to the 401k I have now which I am losing Dec 31.

I own RYTFX- good small cap/micro cap play
VFINX is one of world's biggest funds- I own some of this.
Windsor II is another fund I own- very good fund
Janus Woldwide is a good international fund

      My 45-15-15-15-10 breakdown would be

      25% VWNFX*
      20% VFINX*
      15% BGRFX
      15% RYTFX*
      15% JAWWX
      10% VEIEX

      This is aggressive
      * are funds I own and contribute to in same percentage.

I looked up no prospectus info for this post. In addtiion this is 100% equities- its possible you could lose 40% next year with this. If you would mumble 4 letter words with my name if this happens, then don't do what I suggested.

Add bonds to suit if this is too risky- I also send some of my portfolio to VBMFX (2%). 20% to bonds might make sense if investor wanted moderate growth.

      Moderate allocation would be

      20% VWNFX*
      15% VFINX*
      10% BGRFX
      10% RYTFX*
      15% JAWWX
      10% VEIEX
      20% VBMFX

      conservative
      30% VWNFX*
      30% VFINX*
      5% BGRFX
      5% RYTFX*
      5% JAWWX
      5% VEIEX
      20% VBMFX

Okay Jim! I decided just to put 100% to Lifestragedy Growth Fund. (VASGX)! After doing lots of research that is my plan. Just to simplify! woohoo... now i need to max out my ROTH IRA

I would have to say that I don't think putting 100% into the Lifestragedy Growth Fund. (VASGX) is a great idea. It has way too much bonds and cash for someone who is 25, it has almost 16% in this area! This is really a conservative strategy.

I think it would be better to do something like this (100% equities/stocks):

55% Vanguard 500 Index Fund Inv - VFINX
15% Baron Growth - BGRFX [Small Cap Growth]
15% Royce Total Return Serv - RYTFX [Small Cap Value]
          15% Janus Worldwide -JAWWX

Then as you get more money into the account, I would add in the Mid Cap ones as well, particularly if there are Growth and Value options (a Blend would be even better).

            Hmm, X-Ray is showing:

            Cash: 5.41%
            U.S. Stocks: 68.95%
            Foreign Stocks: 15.21%
            Bonds: 9.57%
            Other: 0.86%

            That's actually not bad!

Plus, an increase in funds generally means an increase in expenses and fees.

However, this isn't a recommendation either way. I'm just commenting that, in my opinion anyway, it's seems fairly viable for one fund.

16% into bonds??? i think you were looking at the wrong ticker.

VASGX is only 9.57. expense ratio is only .27 .

              Valuation is :

              27 - 26 - 25
              5 - 5 - 5
              2 - 2 - 2

              Cash %5.41
              U.S. Stocks %68.95
              Foreign Stocks %15.21
              Bonds %9.57
              Other %0.86

Keeping it simple is good but I'd add in some emerging markets and a little more small cap. Maybe something like this...

                80% - VASGX
                10% - RYTFX
                10% - VEIEX

                That would give you:

                25 24 22

                7 6 6

                4 4 2

                Cash 5.03
                U.S. Stocks 63.62
                Foreign Stocks 22.76
                Bonds 7.75
                Other 0.83
                Not Classified 0.00

Not much more in small cap but would give you more emerging market exposure. And then of course you might want to put a little in that REIT fund at some point also.

I used the correct ticker. I said that it has approx. 16% in both cash and bonds, combined.
