Anyone have any good or bad feedback on this bank?

    Thanks,

I wish someone would drag Millennium Bank out to the back of the tool shed, preferably kicking and screaming, and put it out of its misery once and for all.

First of all, take a look at this. Would you trust a supposed financial institution that operates from a small island off the coast of Venezuela? Even though it claims to be "Wholly Owned by United Trust of Switzerland, SA" Yes, I realize the link I just provided doesn't work. I don't know why either, but it's the correct link, lifted straight from their website. Go to Millennium bank's website and try it yourself.

What's more, their online authentication service is from digicert.com, which appears to be a cheap clearing house for SSL certificate needs. Digicert is a web service from the US, registered with godaddy.com, which in itself is a fairly cheap ISP. Cheap is fine and dandy for us Joe Schmoes, but for a bank? Most banks use Versign. It's expensive, but well-regarded.

It also doesn't help that the website to the Swiss entity that supposedly owns Millenium bank is down. Coincidence? In fact, the only thing I've found on it is talks about fraud.

In other words, NOTHING from the website can verify their claims that they are indeed associated with the Swiss banking system in any way, shape, or form. Contrast this with Swiss banking giant UBS, which can claim verifiable branches in Switzerland itself-- with photographs and map directions!-- as well as an actual Swiss domain registration and uses Verisign.

I suppose it's possible that Millenium bank is indeed legitimate. Even so, because it's not based in the US, your money is not protected by the FDIC.

    Still sound good? You decide.

I think you need to cap UTS to get that link to work.

I wonder how they can offer deposit boxes when they don't have branches and their mailing address is in West Indies.

Haha, this part is pretty funny too

"Due to a long-established tradition of providing absolute confidentiality for its premier private clients and its unwavering commitment as a private trust, United Trust of Switzerland does not offer a public website."

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. (too good to be true)

              Oops. You're right!

Yeah, I like the way they dodged that too. Swiss financial institutes are indeed renowned for their strict belief in privacy, but that's with the client's financial information, not the institute itself. In fact, most of them (like UBS) come out straight out and boast about how great they are.

Why does this site even permit advertisement by them?

So the ban hammer finally comes down eh?

I guess that also scrubs my "Grand Cayman Online Hedge Fund" home business idea.

They survived since this thread was bumped. You could've had at least a 1 year window if you kept your mouth shut and disappeared appropriately.

Of course, these guys are always too greedy
