    - suntrust 750 ( 1.5% iterest)
    -401k 28,000

I think we need more info. Age, income, marital status, age of the child (for the 529 plan). Where did the annuity come from? Since this is probably a relatively young person (based on funding a 529), how did he/she come to have 26K in an annuity? I'd also want to know when the surrender fee is up so he/she can ditch the annuity and put that money somewhere better.

What are "low risk securities"? How are the 401k, Roth and 529 invested? Why is any money being kept in an account paying 1.5% interest? What is the rate on the 15K in CC debt and what's the plan to get that paid off?
    Steve

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

      thanks for the response

      age is 28
      income is about 80K/yr
      marital status is single
      child is about 2 ( I think)
annuity is open to be released ( I think she has to pay taxes on the earnings)
roth is t. rowe price target fund 2045
-not sure about the other investment choices

traditional iras from previously worked jobs:

        - charles schwab 2800 ( low risk securities) <- If it is a long term investment, then it shouldn't be in low risk securities.
        - suntrust 750 ( 1.5% iterest) <- That rate is way too low. Is that another IRA? Why not roll that into the other IRA?
-401k 28,000 <- 28,000 in the 401k is pretty good for being 28 years old.
        -roth 400
        -529 1300

        Debt:

        - credit card 15,000 <- BAD, if you are paying interest on it.

P.S. this is for a friend
Is there life insurance to make sure the child will be taken care of?
