It's been eight years since I last had some of my jewel(le)ry appraised. Some of the items are gold. Gold has gone up some since 1999. Would my jewel(le)ry have appreciated commensurately? The quality has not deteriorated since then -- the items are in a vault away from my home.

Yes, the value of gold has increased significantly since 1999. I sold some items for my mother for their gold value earlier this year and she was quite happy with the price we received.Originally posted by PauletteGoddard View PostIt's been eight years since I last had some of my jewel(le)ry appraised. I don't know if you are talking about learning the value of the gold if sold or having the individual items of jewelry appraised for insurance purposes. If the latter, individual items of jewelry generally tend to be appraised for much higher than one could actually expect to get on the market if sold.
