  • Financial talk radio?

My new job is doing deliveries. I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on some investment/financial talk radio shows?

Here are a few, off the top of my head:

    Crown Financial: Money Matters link
    The Dave Ramsey Show link
    The Clark Howard Show link

Bloomberg radio. You can stream it online or through a smart phone. They are also on XM/Sirius.

I download the Planet Money podcasts and listen to those.

Clark Howard is my favorite. I listen to Dave Ramsey (we are pretty much following his plan) until his voice gets on my last nerve.

I used to listen to the American Advisor and really enjoyed it. It is kind of an advertisement for the company, but what show isn't?

I really like the Motley Fool Money podcast. Its weekly, and about 40 minutes long. Each episode they talk about macro-economic news, stocks they like, and usually interview some sort of financial guru or journalist, business leader, etc. The hosts are great, funny and witty, and its informative at the same time.

I second this. I listen to Bloomberg on XM/Sirius. Not as frantic sounding as the CNBC (which is just the audio from TV CNBC channel). You actually learn about the economy without worrying about how you must trade right that second.

I'm a fan of the Charles Payne show, which broadcasts out of L.A.'s 640 AM KFI (I'm sure he's syndicated). Payne has wonderful investing insight.

I used to like Dave Ramsay, but that was when I actually had debt. I can only take so much of his ultra-reptitive phrases like "been there, done that, have the t-shirt to prove it". There's just the ever-so-slighest bit of attitude with Ramsay, but his fawning listeners don't hear it.

That's an understatement. He just exudes attitude though it can be pretty entertaining. I don't agree with everything he says but I do think his message is something that can help a lot of people. I am not in any need of his brand of financial advice but I still enjoy listening to the podcasts. Hearing some of the stories people call in with can make one quite thankful to not be in their shoes.

I sometimes listen to Adam Bold and Ric Edelman (can't remember the names of their shows) because they come on a couple of my favorite staions. Their advice seems sound but it's a little redundant unless you're a newbie to investing.

As DSteve reminded me: I did used to listen to Ramsay's show to hear the callers who were in pretty dire straits. Made me realize I didn't have it so bad when I was at my worst point debt-wise....

If you're limited to radio, listen to NPR's Marketplace. NPR is available pretty much anywhere from what I understand.
