  • HSBC online savings problem

Anyone else having trouble with HSBC's virtual keyboard? I've had an HSBC online savings account for almost a year now and haven't had problems until now. I've been locked out of my account multiple times recently because of improper login. I make sure to enter everything right, but still it pops up as improper login info every time I try to login. When I've called customer support and had them unlock my account after too many failed attempts, they tell me its because of the virtual keyboard login info. When I login while on the phone with CS it's always gone through fine. This has been very weird especially after such a long time without any issues.

I can't say that I've experienced any problem with it. Have you had any further issues ever since you called the customer service line last time and logged in with them on the line?

I have been with HSBC since they started the virtual keyboard sign in and have never experienced any problems. Have you tried cleaning your browser's cache and cookies or perhaps another browser? It may be something with your PC/or browser rather than HSBC's sign-in proceedure.

No problems here either. I hope you figure it out.

Zalan888, it looks like it is a localized problem! Get in touvh with HSBC if you continue to have problems!

                Problem fixed

I finally got someone at HSBC who knew what they were talking about. Everyone else had just been giving me this lame excuse that the virtual keyboard is very sensitive especially in Firefox. They were sort of right but didn't explain it or tell me how to fix it. They just unlocked and told me to retry it slowly. So I could sometimes get in but more often got locked out after many failed tries.

Well the guy who I talked to and helped me fix the problem actually explained it to me. Firefox does have a problem with the virtual keyboard and can very easily double click, but it's very consistent. So if you created the key with Firefox you probably mistyped what you wanted and have been doing it ever since to login.

They migrated their systems recently and a lot of people have been getting caught who didn't even realize they had a problem. The weird thing is this has been a known issue for months, and it took the 4th customer rep I talked to explain it to me and fix it.

I do notice it's a bit more sensitive in Firefox. Glad you got it worked out.
