Very good and thorough explaination on the less-talked about bond market. One thing I would like to add that I didn't see in the article is the cost of owning a bond mutual fund. As with other funds, you want to keep the expense ratio as low as possible. This is even more important when dealing with bonds. Since the difference between some bonds can come down to mere basis points, the expense ratio of different bond funds can drastically determine your overall return.
