markio- yes, I shop at Aldi's. I buy all our basic fruits, vegetables, milk, and instant coffee there. I watch for any hand written signs and I go through the clearance bin. The last time I scored big was with flavored pork tenderloins. The sign said "take $2 off each". I bought every one they had that was under $3. Crazy! We also like wasabi flavored anything. Awhile back they had wasabi nuts (kiyakis) for 69¢ a can. At the oriental store those would have cost $3+. lynclarke PS When we ere in England and trying to watch expenses we shopped at Aldi's, too. The English stores have a lot more sweets than ours.

I have in the past shopped at Aldi's a lot. They carried some products that I found I like better than name-brands. The stores are out of the way for me now, but if I am in the area and have time, I will stock up on non-perishables. Eggs are always a great deal, as is most dairy. Produce is sometimes good, sometimes a little old. Onions seem always reliable. Great price on black olives, can't beat it anywhere. I like their Italian salad dressing, though it is cheaper still to buy their oil and vinegar and make my own. Pasta prices are great. Hey, I think I'm describing pasta salad, which I used to make a lot when I shopped at aldi's often.

I think Aldi's is owned by the same German company that owns Trader Joe's. Occasionally, you can see the same product in both stores.

I notice that the same employees work at the Aldi's stores for years. I really like seeing that because it means that employees are probably treated well and paid respectably. That is important to me.

i shop at kr, ge, and topps mostly... but, once a month, only if i can help it.. i don't have an aldi's that close by, we have a few save-a-lot stores.. one is in sandusky, oh, the other one is in lorain, oh... sandusky and lorain both have aldi's..

Aldis used to be by where DH worked, but he switched buildings, and now it is not nearby..so we don't go much anymore.

I've shopped at Aldi in the past. That place is a godsend for struggling college students! I'm happy to say my husband and I didn't spend our college years eating ramen noodles; we had real meals thanks to Aldi.

I don't shop there so much anymore, even though it's relatively close to where I do the bulk of my shopping. I think it stems from laziness. Now that I'm working two jobs, I don't feel like making more than one trip, even though I'm sure I could save a few extra dollars.

Yep we shop @ Aldi's! We buy alot of groceries there. I don't know that Aldi's would ever be out of my way since they are building new ones like mad here & there's one right down the way also

Aldi's is helping keep our budget afloat! When I go to the regular chains & see people with carts full to the brim & pay over $250 for that cart full, I chuckle to myself how much $ they are wasting when they could of paid half of that or less. I only buy things that are on sale or things that Aldi's or Wal-mart doesn't carry @ the grocery store.

Also gotta love the buy one get one deals when they over order or the item is about to expire!!!

Aldi was about to build a store in my town last year and the snobby Aholes in my town started a campaign against them by petitioning to the city council and a letter-writing campaign in the local paper. They all described Aldi as a decrepit undesirable store where the poverty-stricken shop. I was only one of two people who wrote letters to the editor in the paper in support of Aldi (versus probably over 50 against). The Aholes won and Aldi backed out of their deal to move into an empty lot at an intersection in our town. So I have to still drive 30 miles out of town every week to grocery shop at Aldi's in a neighboring city. It's still worth it for half-price premium-quality groceries.

Down with the vocal minority! There are two Aldi's in our city. One is in a low socio-economic area the other, the one closest to us, is in one of the wealthiest suburbs.
Each time we shop we make a game of spotting the luxury cars. BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Rolls Royce etc etc. This year our record is 15 at one time. Just before the Easter holidays. It is only a small car park. Haven't actually counted but there would lucky to be 100 spaces available.

Maybe I should give Aldi's another shot . . .ya'll like iit so well. We had one open about 5 miles down the street and the last time I was there I wasn't impressed at all. The milk prices were competitive, but not the lowest around. The produce was largely non-existant and what was there was unedible (and I'm not picky.) Maybe they were going through new store growing pains . . .
