What do you use Alexa/Echo/Google Home for?

doesn't people with apple phones have something similar where it listens to see if youre asking it somethign? I dont know, i have an android based system

Each day, I say "Hello Google" and it says

Good Morning Susan. Then it tells me the weather, what my schedule looks like on my calendar and then the latest news.

We use it for a timer, for music, for fun - you can find funny things to ask it online.

We enjoy having it around.

I do all of those things with my phone. I just don't see what it can do that I can't already do. Plus, I always have my phone with me while the Home thing is only in a fixed location in the house (unless you have a bunch of them set up).

I talk to Alexa when I'm alone and bored. She keeps me entertained.

It is actually a pretty solid security feature. It did entertain me as well at first, but I got bored really quickly.
