  • Being Sued by Capital One

New here and looking for advice. I have a $2400 credit card that i could not keep paying due to 2 surgeries and my husband's heart attack. I am going to do everything I can to get myself turned around so my finances are better in 2018 so I need to deal with this head on. I do owe the debt and have acknowledged it. It's been since May since this was answered and I was found in fault of owing it. I wrote a letter to the attorney representing them stating I'd like to set up payment arrangements due to not being able to do a lump sum and left messages. Capital One told me to please try to waiver with the attorney.

It is now November 18th and I have yet to receive any word from the attorney and I saw on my court record a summons was sent to Capital One.

Question...doesn't it make sense for Capital One to try to work with me since I'm so readily trying to work on this?? Should I pursue them more to get them to work on a payment plan? I have been told this legal firm holds out looking over your credit to see what they can get from you and then swoop in and grab your bank account. I'm being honest and trying to make ammends and they act like this. You can't squeeze blood from a turnip and I own no property. I'm not rich but want to fix this. I could run but I'm not.

    Advice?? Thanks!!!
