  • Walk Down Memory Lane...

Anyone else remember the days of cloth diapers, pins, and rubber pants?

Maybe you wore them when you were a baby?

How about your own children? What kind of diapers did you use on them? Cloth diapers and rubber pants, or disposables?

How about babysitting? Did you babysit when you were younger? Did you have to change diapers? What kind of diapers do you remember changing when you babysat?

How about baby siblings? What kind of diapers did your baby siblings wear? Did you have to change them?

To add an extra measure of fun to this thread, when was the last time you changed a diaper? What kind of diaper was it? Cloth or disposable?

Anyone else remember the days of cloth diapers, pins, and rubber pants? Sure do. The picture of the stack of diapers dates from when my youngest was a baby (early 90's).

Maybe you wore them when you were a baby? Yuppers, sure did! That's all they had back then.

How about your own children? What kind of diapers did you use on them? Cloth diapers and rubber pants, or disposables? Cloth diapers and rubber pants.

How about babysitting? Did you babysit when you were younger? Did you have to change diapers? What kind of diapers do you remember changing when you babysat? I changed both cloth and disposable diapers, but remember changing cloth diapers the most, because that's what everyone used back then.

How about baby siblings? What kind of diapers did your baby siblings wear? Did you have to change them? Cloth diapers and rubber pants, and yes, I changed their diapers lots being the oldest!

To add an extra measure of fun to this thread, when was the last time you changed a diaper? What kind of diaper was it? Cloth or disposable? Last Friday night on one of my grandkids. Pampers. Last time I changed a cloth diaper? Around 2008, when family stayed with us for two weeks during the summer.

May I add, this topic is open to whatever Memory Lane memories you may have. Thought it would be fun to reminisce about the long and forgotten...

I wore cloth diapers and rubber pants but I don't remember.ha

But I do remember wearing rubber pants over my underwear, probably after being potty trained at night to bed.

My kids wore disposable and I only remember changing disposable diapers when I babysat (late 70's & 80's).

Last time I changed a diaper was probably a few years ago, disposable of my great niece.

LOL! My youngest daughter claims (to this day) that she remembers me diapering her for bed and how uncomfortable the rubber pants were!

Came up with more in hopes of getting a few more members onboard!

            - Bell-bottom jeans/pants
            - Single purchase cigarettes at the corner store for .10 cents
            - Putrid smelling boxed home-perms of the 70's!
            - Jolly Jumpers, for babies
            - Excersaucers, for babies (talk about dangerous)!
            - Clackers (those funky glass balls attached by a string with rings at the end). Not only did you clack the clackers, you clacked your knuckles, too! Ouch!
            - Cork guns (my baby brother used to target my sister and I with his)!
            - Lava lamps (they are coming back)
            - Kotex Pads as big and bulky as diapers!
            - Elasticized hair pulls with decorative glass/plastic balls on either end. When those babies got stuck in your hair, they got stuck! Double ouch!!!
            - Vans with painted murals on their sides. So cool!
            - James Last
            - Wonder Woman (wanted to be just like her)!
            - Time-honoured etiquette (it doesn't exist anymore like it used to)
            - Legg's Panty Hose. "Our legs, fit your legs, they hug you, they hold you, they never let you go"!
            - Plastic baby bibs
            - Running diaper pins through your hair to help them go through diapers easier
            - Rotary telephones and Party Lines! LOL!
            - Cigarette pants
            - Spanking!
            - Babysitting for .25 and .50 cents hour
            - Plastic diaper pails
            - Cigarette rolling machines (my mom rolled her own cigarettes when money was tight)
            - Dome hairdryers with the attached hose and gigantic plastic balloon bonnets!
            - Black & White televisions with picture tubes!
            - Viewfinders
            - Peppermint Bulls-eyes
            - Waffle-knit training pants (toilet training), not disposable ones like today
            - Vinyl Bumper Pads (crib)
            - Drop-side cribs
