Sears, cancelling all Extended Warranties

For all who generally buy Extended Warranties, I mention, today Sears cancelled all Canadian warranties, effective today! Only those bought this week are refundable. There is not a dime in termination benefits for loyal staff. Coincidentally, today, our courts confirmed Executive bonuses will be paid as contracted to key executives who stay on.

What a rip off. Another good reason not to buy extended warranties.

I'm actually surprised because I wouldn't think Sears actually administers the warranty themselves. I guess I always figured there was a third party in the background, like with an insurance policy.

Extended warranties are always a rip off anyway. Even more so in this case.

Wow! But I have to say I did buy an extended warranty for my dishwasher and my freezer, they are both expired. But the reason being it just seems like everything today is JUNK! For me it was worth it to gamble and pay $100 for a 5 year warranty that covers repairs and service because I've had appliances that had problems 3 years in and believe me I paid more than the $100 to fix them.

Of course saying that my dishwasher and freezer are still chugging along with their expired warranties. And I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

I used to work for Kmart. We sold the same Sear's Warranties, and they were generally a rip off anyway. Having your Warranty cancelled won't matter much. You'd end up paying for repairs either way.
