  • So... What ARE the NFL 'Tax Breaks'?

POTUS Donald Trump tweeted out about the NFL's tax breaks... the NFL is a "nonprofit" organization... which means they are tax exempt? News sources say taxpayers have paid about $6.7 billion into new NFL stadiums alone.

    What do you guys think?

I know there are tons of tax breaks given when they build a new stadium, but I don't think the stadiums are typically owned by the NFL so that wouldn't really apply to your question. For example, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia is owned by the city of Philadelphia. The Eagles play there, but they don't own the place.

As for the NFL being a non-profit, that's not true. Here's the Snopes page about that: http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/nflexempt.asp
The President might want to check Snopes before tweeting .

Yes - the NFL gave up a majority of their tax breaks in 2015, I believe.

I wish he would give up Tweeting entirely haha.
