I love my Roku and cutting the cable TV cord has been a major cost savings from $109 a month with Spectrum TV to Play Station Vue at $45 a month since July 07, 2017. In a nutshell I have all the same channels.
What free movies channels would you recommend? I got Crackle, Popcornflix, and Documentary Depot. Albeit they all play commercials but for free I'm not complaining. The movies they have all seem like old movies and nothing with new releases. I don't want to pay for Netflix, Hulu, or others. Any recommendations?
At times I experience buffering due to the lowest tier internet service at $15 a month with Spectrum when I view videos on my laptop simultaneously while on the Roku. When the buffering gets really annoying I switch to TV mode (no Roku) and watch my local free over the air antenna channels. I could increase my internet speeds but I want to keep my $15 a month internet service. I use a rabbit ear antenna positioning it in my apartment window. Sometimes I lose the signal and it's a minor interruption but it can get annoying as well especially when I miss a play in a football or baseball game. Would an amplified indoor antenna flat-leaf-type work better? A cheap unamplified flat indoor antenna runs about $20, amplified runs about 40. Anyone have any recommendations as to which brand or model works good? I would appreciate any recommendations.
