The LDW coverage seems less of a hassle should damage happen to the rental car being that it would be handled by the car rental company and not my credit card company or my personal car insurance. Luckily, I never had to cross that bridge. Anyone here experience damage to a rental car care to share your experience? Did your credit card company or your personal car insurance step up to assist or did they give you the run around? I'm curious.
You can use a debt card to rent a car. In twenty years though, I think I've only had to rent twice?

I haven't rented a car since getting the Chase Sapphire card, but it is supposed to cover Collision Damage Waiver / Loss Damage Waiver. Google says these run $25-$40 per day. I honestly don't know what the right answer is here.

With credit card fraud or theft, I would close the account and not have to sweat about it since the money lost would not be my money. And with credit card purchases there is buyer protections where the credit card company can reverse the charge for a defective item. I don't think debit cards offer that same service. And with credit cards the perks of the cash back rewards adds up such as the $100 Dominos gift card that I just ordered last night & the other $78 which I applied to my outstanding balance on another credit card vs nothing with using a debit card. And lastly using credit cards bulilds up my credit score where my score is 840. On a last note, I have all 3 credit bureaus on freezes which everyone should do to prevent fraud against yourselves but I can lead a horse to water but I can't make the horse drink it.
      Yes and no.

In both cases you have to monitor your accounts and report the fraud as soon as it is recognized. Banks are going to have some time limit for reporting (I'm guessing <90 days) to get your money back. I wouldn't consider having to file a fraud report and disputing a charge as fighting the bank.

You have to do the same thing with the credit card as well. You say just close the account, but the charges are still there under your name.

The buyer protections are probably stronger on credit cards, but it has been my limited experience that contacting the seller or platform worked fine.

In one case I purchased a book for about $150 from a guy on Alibris.com. The next day he said it shipped and two weeks later I hadn't received. After giving emails with no answer a week, I followed up with Alibris and they offered to refund if I wanted. I REALLY wanted the book, so they lit a fire under the guy and a week later I had it.

In two other cases, problems with Amazon vendors, I just requested a refund and no issue.

The credit freeze is an excellent idea and one I need to look into.
