My Saturday started at 3:00 am today. I have 2 ulcers on my cornea and have been to the ophthalmologist 2 times this week already. I have expensive drops to treat the serious ulcers pretty aggressively. And it was getting better. But I woke up at 3:00 Saturday morning in just as much pain as I was in the beginning. So I called the ophthalmologist and they wanted me to come in for an after hours visit to check it out. I have insurance but am not sure how much my copay will be for that. Everything looked good she said and it is healing. I am glad I went for my peace of mind.
I was planning on doing Christmas with my children on Saturday. My daughter lives 1.5 hours from me but since I was already half way there I went on to her house at 7:30 am. Since I woke thff er m up I stopped and got a dozen donuts. Man are those expensive now! They were 3.01 per dozen when I worked at the donut shop…it was $13.90 for a dozen Saturday morning! I was in shock!
I also had to stop at the grocery store to get the items I was supposed to bring for our meal. Spent $19.36 there. I had money left in my grocery budget for the month so I took the donuts and groceries out of it.
I have started using a new-to-me software for tracking my expenses. I am getting it for free through my son-in-law’s subscription, kind of like a family plan. I am also keeping a spreadsheet for reporting and comparison purposes. I was using a popular software program for over 20 years but they wanted over $100 per year to renew it. I couldn’t justify paying that kind of money. And to tell the truth, the spreadsheet gives me a better of of where my money is going.
