  • Photobucket no longer allows 3rd party hosting

I noticed that all of my pictures that I posted to this site are gone. Photobucket wants something like $400 per year to reactivate my Photobucket account, no thank you. I'm guessing that I will no longer be able to retrieve any of my photos. Anyone have any suggestions for another photo sharing type site. I'm think of Imgur or maybe Flickr. Photobucket was so slow, and it had so many ads to have to go through.

I use Imgur and haven't had any problems. I don't use it much. Mainly only when I want to share a photo on a discussion board like this one. I use Facebook for pretty much any other photo-sharing.

Imgur for sure, I've been pulling mine off btw even though I have NOT been bitten yet. Prolly will be closing my account there once I pull off 10+ years of pics I've posted on message boards.

      It sucks though. Really sucks.

Just to be clear, I wouldn't use ANY online service to store your photos. You should be doing that on your own. Keep them on your computer and back them up to an external drive. Hard drives are dirt cheap. My daughter just got a 1 terabyte drive recently for $60.

The only reason I use Imgur is to be able to share the photos on message boards. But I still maintain the original file on my own system.

With me, it didn't start that way that it was a pic dump.

What happened was reformatting without backups several times, then getting a new system. Stuff happens sometimes; and this was all files that I'd used on message boards.

So this has just lit a fire under my bum to get them back; shame they won't allow more than 2 albums to be downloaded a day. I'll get them, I'll get them.
