  • International cell phone plan way cheaper than I thought

Our daughter is leaving for Belgium this week. We needed to get her an international plan for calling, texting, and data.

We were very surprised to learn that with AT&T, it is only $10/day for unlimited calling and texting and access to our home data plan. No additional charges or hidden fees. She'll only be gone for 5 days so $50 + tax. That's not bad at all. It's amazing how cheap this stuff has gotten.

I wonder if it got any cheaper since EU made roaming be the same price all around the union.

      Verizon has the same plan.

We went to Canada in May and thought we would have to pay a lot to add Canada. Last year, it was $2 per day which for four people would have been $8 x 7 so $56 total. This year, Canada is included in our plan which was a nice surprise.

Our son just spent time overseas and it was supposed to be $10 per day so we'll see when the bill arrives. Nice to know there aren't supposed to be any surprises.
