I feel embarrassed using it at a store and possibly being questioned over it. CVS near me has a lottery vending machine and I may try using it there. I got the $20 bill in Las Vegas and got distracted by so much money being transacted.

A vending machine or slot machine may kick it back but somewhere where you pay a person is fine. Use it to buy lunch or something. It's money. If they don't want it, I'll take it.

I actually have a $2.00 silver certificate. It is so unusual that I just couldn't spend it. It's not in mint condition, so it is not worth much, though. For the foreign coins, I would go to a currency exchange. I have never been to one, though. Does it cost money to trade money?

[QUOTE=QuarterMillionMan;n739080]Mom asked me to see if I can get anything out of these foreign currencies, so I will be selling these foreign currencies on eBay. Also, not pictured is a box of foreign coins. Interesting notes but probably only worth a $1 or $2 each. Anyone recognize any of these?

Do you live near a college or university where they may be foreign exchange students? Maybe you could sell or gift it to them.

Foreign exchanges only takes paper, no coins. Their fees are built into the spread on both the buy & sell sides. The closest college to me is USC (10 miles) or UCLA (13 miles).

Interesting. I really never pay any attention to my cash but I just got a big stack of $1 and $5 bills to have for yard sales and estate sales. Maybe I’ll flip through it today and see if I have one of these.

There is supposedly a pair of $1 bills that made it into circulation that have exact duplicate serial numbers. Finding them could make you a millionaire.
