Life insurance ? Or death insurance ?

It seems like life insurance should protect ME from dying. I pay the premiums, I don't die. Simple.

Life insurance today merely protects others in the event that I DIE. That's death insurance.

I would highly suggest we get all of this fixed, preferably before I die.

Our 30 year life insurance policy pays us back the full premium amount if we outlive the policy.

So I got that going for me, which is nice.

I recall $15 more per month. Even our agent told us that this policy wouldn't exist in a few months. We bought it in early 2007.

30 year life, $500k coverage for each of us, $64/month for both.
