    Another point of Southwest is they don't assign seats. You load based on your Boarding Number. Group A goes first, with the first 1-15 being Priority boarding, which earn. Each group is 60 people. Then those will small children go. The Group B 1-60, and finally Group C 1-60.

    I've noticed that most people do board front to back. Most want to get off the plane quick. People do pick windows and aisles first so if you are in Group C, you might need to take a middle seat or go all the way to the back.

    Because they offer free checked bags, you actually see fewer people with carry ons to go in the overhead bins. Not that they are eliminated entirely, but fewer people have them, so no worry about finding space. And if you aren't looking for space you are loading faster.
