$1 Trillion Dollar Coin

While I do enjoy frequenting The Drudge Report, they have a habit of sensationalizing some of the most random news articles. Case in point, their current head line story "Treasury Plans Emergency $1 Trillion Coin".

But after doing some googling, it seems this is being discussed in more places than this one article on Axios:

I've never been accused of believing our government was pragmatic, but the suggestion of this is just so far out in left field that it blows my mind.

I saw this yesterday as well.
Apparently, it's something that was talked about and could be done, but there are no tangible plans to make it a real thing.

But, wouldn't it be nice if the cashier at Walmart accidently gave you one of those for change?
