  • The 10 roads to riches

I read this book a while ago and found it to be exactly true.

Not sure if it would have helped me become financially ok, but it was a very good read after arriving at the destination. For those that have made it financially, I think you'll enjoy skimming thru this book.

Oh, for those that is on the way to financial well-being; I recommend this book:

I also read it after making my money (and still found it interesting). What this book gives you is the step-by-step instructions to becoming financially ok -- that nearly matched my own steps. If I had read this book years ago, I could have save myself some early blunders.

As for the title, here's what my son thinks. I was forced to teach him chess, and he's learned it well enough to get a score of 1400 on chess.com after 40-50 games. Next I decided to set him off learning on his own so I got him a Chess Openings for Dummies. When the book arrived, I realized that it was too difficult for him so I told him. Then he refuses to belive me because (in his words): "but it's for dummies".

Don't be like my 6 yr son, ignore the book's title and enjoy it.

      Books for financial independence

      Hey sv2007,

Those are some solid book recommendations. I'll have to take a look at them and see what tips they can provide me. One of my favorite financial books is "I Will Teach You to Be Rich" by Ramit Sathi. This book teaches you how to automate your finances, pay off debt and set aside money to do the things you love to do. I highly recommend it.

Before about a year ago, I never bothered with finances much (no idea of how much money we have or how much taxes paid). Then I got some time and dived into my investments.. and started reading these finance books. Will give your book a read when I get a chance.
